It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our much loved Marg at Michael Garron Hospital after a brief stay. She was predeceased by her husband, David and her parents, Elizabeth and John (Jack) Robb. Marg was a loving and dedicated wife to her husband, David John Boyd for 63 years and a cherished mother to John Charles (Jack) Boyd and Laura Lyn Kimoff (Brad). Nana Marg was extremely proud of her grandsons, Evan (26) and Ryan (24). They were her joy. She was influential in their lives and she embraced them with love and kindness. She would laugh and joke and be silly with them as often as she could. Marg will be dearly missed by her small but special family, brother-in-law, Peter (Ann), Michael, Stephen and Lesley and their families. She will be fondly remembered by the many lifelong friends she made along the way. The adventures, the fun times and her good natured kindness gave us all fond memories.
Marg started work at the young age of 11 years after the early passing of her beloved Dad. Marg had adored him and spoke of him frequently over the years. Her first part-time job was at a vegetable store on Bayview Ave. followed by working at the original Dominion store at Eglinton where she met the love of her life, Dave Boyd. After completing high school Marg worked at the Toronto Police Service where she made lifelong friendships with Dianne Yaneff and Marg Forbes. After Jack and Laura entered high school she became office manager at a busy doctors office, where again she made many friends including Dr. Stubbins who became a fine friend to all her family. After marriage, Dave's job took them to Kitchener, Windsor and Sarnia where Jack was born. Later, they moved to Toronto to be closer to family and where Dave could start his own successful company. They bought their first home on Northey Drive in North York where they lived for 57 years. In the 1970's they bought a cottage in Thunder Beach where summers were spent on the beach with cottage friends and their grandsons. Marg loved babies--every new mother-friend or family member--had to surrender their infant for a long cuddle with their "Auntie Margie," who introduced herself to the new one as "Flossie" or as "Mrs. Pretty Face."
