Higgins, Margaret Duffy

In the early morning of Sunday June 25th, 2023, Margaret peacefully took her journey back home surrounded by her children, at Oak Ridges Hospice. Margaret was connected by heart and soul to her weans, Louise (Matt), Lisa (Tim), Daniel, and Meagan, as well as bonus daughters Amanda and Kerry. Margaret was Number One Nana to Diana, Nicholas, Gabrielle, Emma, Zachary, Morgan, Shaylah, Keira, Noah, and Allison. Margaret was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to Ellen and Joseph Graham on February 20th, 1952. After losing her father Joseph, at a young age, Margaret was raised and cared for by her loving mother and second husband, Danny McArdle. Margaret was a sister to Joseph, Robert, Mary, Theresa, Anthony, and Ellen. She will be forever treasured and missed deeply by her loving family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Oak Ridges Hospice for the comfort, care, empathy and professionalism shown to Margaret and her family. Pure Magic. A graveside service will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY, FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1 pm. Maggie (mum) will be so deeply missed. For 33 years Maggie was like a mum to me. When I was a teenager she would chat with me and never judged me. She would always welcome me into her home and would tell me I was one of her lassies, which melted my heart. When I became a part of the family, Meagan was just a wee wean so I picked up a lot of the โ€œScottishโ€ lingo. Raising my kids I used those words (Pram, wean, lad and a few others). I am so honoured to have had Maggie in my life as a bonus mum. Rest in peace Maggie. I will never hear Rod without thinking of you. I love you forever. ๐Ÿ’œ

Love you always Auntie โค I can probably count on one hand the amount of times we actually met in person, but I feel we had such a strong bond! I will miss you immensely, i will miss your funny posts, your obsession with Rod Stewart, your tags for me about Campervans, and I will treasure the memories we made in the last decade of your 2 visits to us. You were my smoking outside and drinking partner then ๐Ÿ˜‰ we had some funny yet deep chats too. I and my sister will look after your Sissy do not worry! I'll show this page to mum on Fri then she can send you a message. Love you forever Auntie โค๐Ÿ’•
