In memory of

Margaret Chong 張珠心

September 10, 1960 -  June 6, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we are announcing the passing of Margaret Chong on Thursday, June 6, 2024, who left us unexpectedly yet peacefully in her sleep in her home in Toronto at age 63.

Margaret was a cherished daughter of Fred Chong (predeceased) and Christine Chong, beloved sister to Tang (Philip) Chan, Dawn (Kawing) Leung, Marian (Kin-Man) Lee, Matthew (Jennifer Jung) Chong and Dorothy (John Gort) Chong and loving aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, and 15 grand nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Margaret was a CPA, CMA who graduated in Math Accounting at the University of Waterloo. She spent most of her career working at Bolton Tremblay and Invesco Funds where she made lifelong friends while dedicating countless hours to her job.

We will remember Margaret’s warmth, beautiful smile, feisty spirit, compassion and resilience. Margaret loved and cared about everyone in her life and was always there for them. Margaret lived at the waterfront and loved the vibe and energy of Toronto and regularly volunteered with her beloved city.

Services will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre on Friday, June 21, 2024 starting at 1pm. If desired, donations can be made in Margaret’s memory to Lupus Canada (see link above).

We will all miss her kind heart and her radiant smile. To the lives she touched, Margaret will be forever in our hearts and in our memories.

My deepest condolences to all of Margaret’s family. Her passing is such a shock to all of us who know her. She has been a part of my life for 44 years! We shared dorm rooms , travelled to Europe and were part of a wider group of Waterloo friends. We shared many celebrations of milestones and had many heart to heart conversations. She is like family to me. I will remember her for being a wonderful, bright , caring person who loved music, biking and having fun with friends . Margaret I wish you peace .I love you and miss you ! 😘

Sending hugs and my deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time.
Margaret was a kind, caring, generous and thoughtful person with a strong spirit. She was a dedicated and a hard working person. I was very fortunate to have worked with Margaret at Trimark and then again at Invesco Canada.
She will be truly missed but never forgotten.
