In memory of

Margaret Chan

October 18, 1932 -  February 5, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Pek Chuen (Siu) Chan announces her passing on February 5th, 2019 at the age of 86 in Markham, Ontario. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 56 years, Kenneth and her children, Renée (Jeff), Elaine (Mario) and Derek (Sharon). Margaret will also be fondly remembered and missed by her eight grandchildren, Frances, Valerie, Joey, Hailey, Laura, Krista, Claire and Elisabeth.

Preceded in death by her brother Fred Siu (2017) and sister-in-law Helen (2018). Survived by dear brother Dr. Kenneth Siu (Mary), and sister Patsy Sun (Jeffrey) and many nieces and nephews.

Born October 18, 1932 in Hong Kong, China to Siu Hon Kit and Choy Kam Ching.

Margaret loved to knit, paint, solve jigsaw puzzles and line dance. She took much pride in her grandchildren and never refused a marathon day of mah-jong with her friends. Her fabulous cooking was enjoyed by family and friends.

The family expresses appreciation and wishes to thank all the caregivers and staff at Yee Hong Centre of Geriatric Care (Markham) where Margaret was cared for, especially those on the 4th floor, South Wing.

Cremation and interment with close family members will take place at Elgin Mills Cemetary, Cremation and Funeral Centre. A private Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.

As your expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation (http://www.yeehong.com/foundation/) or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (https://www.heartandstroke.ca/).
