Manoocher “Mike” Sabouri was born on November 28th, 1933 to Mohammad and Ozra Sabouri. Mike leaves behind his beautiful wife of 63 years Fereshteh “Fay”, his daughter Parisa (Fred) & son Kamran (Sandra) along with his 3 grandchildren Chantelle, Evan, and Chance. Mike was born in Tehran, Iran and moved to the United States for high school in New York City and attended The University of Oklahoma. Mike moved back to Tehran in 1959 with an electrical engineering degree and married Fay in December of 1961.

Mike worked as an electrical engineer in Tehran through the 60’s and 70’s for Iranian Power Generation and became a shareholder of an Engineering consulting company Monenco in the last 8 years of his career in Iran . Even though family was very important to Mike and the reason he moved back to Iran, he also loved to party and had many late nights celebrating every occasion.

In 1980, Fay and Mike made the decision to move to Canada after the revolution and he transferred his job to Monenco in Canada. They took both of their children with them and established themselves in St. Catherines. After a few years of Monenco Mike decided to finally try owning his own business and Mike and Fay worked very hard owning Bugsy’s restaurant serving the best pizza in town. After many late nights and hard work at Bugsy's, they decided to sell the business to move to Richmond Hill in 1991 and retire after Chantelle his granddaughter was born.

If you knew Mike, you were lucky to know the happiest and most humble man in the world. Mike truly loved his wife, his family and friends, his solitaire cards, The Raptors, and most importantly his bread dipped in yogurt. He always had a smile on his face and loved to meet new people. His smile and outlook on life was contagious, and we will continue to live on in his memory.
