Manbass is also survived by numerous extended family members.

Born in the vibrant island of Trinidad, Manbass relocated to Toronto in 1971, where she dedicated years of service at TD Bank until her well-deserved retirement in 1994. A self-taught seamstress, she possessed an unwavering passion for dressmaking and a keen eye for fashion, often creating matching outfits for her daughters. Her artistic talents extended to weaving, knitting, and crocheting, showcasing a remarkable ability to craft with her hands. Possessing a natural aptitude for mechanics, she acquired skills in maintaining the family vehicle and rice mill, showcasing her practical and hands-on abilities.

In addition to her creative pursuits, Manbass was an ardent cook, delighting in preparing meals that became a source of joy for both family and friends. Her dhalpuri and curry duck and goat were legendary and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to savor them.

A member of the Winona Coop community for many years, Didi found joy in the camaraderie of her fellow residents. Actively engaged in the social committee, she collaborated with neighbors such as Claire, Jenny, Aidan, and numerous others to plan and partake in various events and celebrations, contributing to the vibrant spirit of the community.

Manbass, or Didi as she was affectionately called, will be deeply missed by those who were touched by her warmth, wisdom, and love. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Hawthorne Woods Residence, especially Connie and Cindy, for their compassionate care and support during the last 18 months.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable mother, grand and great mother, sister, auntie, and friend, let us cherish the memories and celebrate the rich legacy she leaves behind.

A private cremation ceremony with immediate family will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

May she find eternal peace.
