Man-Nei (Wai) Tao passed away peacefully at MacKenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, on August 10th, 2017 at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Man-Nei was born on July 18th, 1939 in Guangzi, China. Her family moved to Hong Kong where she met and married Bak-Kin, a civil engineer in 1963. Before immigrating to Canada, Man-Nei was a dedicated teacher who held a passion for educating students. In Canada, Man-Nei had a long career at Bell Canada. A caring wife for 54 years, Bak-Kin and Man-Nei had shared many common interests. As a loving mother and grandmother, Man-Nei endeavoured to keep up with the daily lives of her family, relished their achievements and always encouraged the pursuit of their goals. Man-Nei is remembered for her wisdom, determination and beautiful smile.
Man-Nei is survived by her loving husband Bak-Kin, sons Benedict and Anthony (and their respective wives, Julie and Lucy) and grandchildren Brendan, Cameron, Alyssa and Katelyn.
The service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Viewing is from 9-10 am followed by a funeral service from 10-11 am at the Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centre. Pastor Edward Leung will conduct the ceremony. The family would like to thank all those involved in the life and care of Man-Nei. Friends and relatives are invited to join and celebrate the life of Man-Nei Tao.
