In memory of

Mai-Cheong Wong

June 2, 1932 -  November 8, 2021

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mai-Cheong Wong, aged 89 on November 8, 2021 in Markham, Ontario, after a long and courageous battle with T-cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (cancer).

Mai-Cheong was born on June 2, 1932, in Quangdong, China. During her college study as nurse and medical doctor, she met and married Ping-Yee Wong, predeceased 8 months ago.

She is the beloved mother of Steven (daughter in-law Kristin) and Brigitte, proud grandmother of Janine and Robert.

Mai-Cheong lived a full life as a caring and wonderful mother, Pediatric doctor, factory worker, assistant to her husband in his herbal medicine business and a devoted grandmother.

She had a constant passion for learning, always reading and learning new things on her own; including: language, accounting, investments and the bible. In parallel diving into modern technology and fearlessly using her computer and iPad for reading and researching.

Most of all, she loved and cared for her family, and friends, treated everyone equal and instilled strong value to always “take the time”. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, her wish is to make donations to her beloved church community; Richmond Hill Chinese Baptist Church.

My dear friends,
Tom and I just wanted to say how sorry we are to learn about the passing of your mother . I have heard in the past year just how much you have dedicated your spare time to taking care of her and supporting her through these difficult times. I hope in the days to come, that you will find strength remembering the happy thoughts and times you shared as a family .I pray it will bring comfort and even a smile. Your mom is now at peace . One day at time for the next few days.

Sister May is a wonderful friend at church. She learns things very fast during sunday classes when I was with her in the same class. I am very happy that she can be her husband now in heaven together. Rest in peace and in God‘S faithful hands. Patricia Sham
