It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the passing of Magdolna (Magda) Demeter (nee Pek) peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Friday, December 23, 2016. She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Béla. Loving mother of Marti (David), Stephen (Edna), grandmother of Stephanie and dear sister of Zoltan. Beloved aunt of Alex (Toula), Steven (Roshi), Kathryn (Jas) and great- aunt of Christopher, Kailon, and Marissa. Predeceased by her parents Terez Abraham (Sikler) and Ernő Pek, brother Frank and sister-in-law Brenda. Her cheerful and sunny personality, her gentleness and caring will always be treasured and greatly missed. She was an inspiration in courage to all who knew her.

Visitation will take place at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Thursday, December 29th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service on Friday, December 30th at 11am with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scarborough Community Care Access Centre (CCAC).
