Mabel McAuley

Born Mabel Irene Fisk on March 1, 1928, in St. Catharine's, died peacefully at home in Scarborough on April 11, 2023, age 95.
Predeceased by husband Roger, sisters Patricia Lawson and Doris Walker and brother Gordon Fisk.
Mom to Gary (Ethel) and Glenn (Alison), Grandma Mabel to Abigail, Brandon, Austin, Michael and John. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to personal support worker Marie who provided such loving care to mom in her final days. We will miss her tremendously.
Deafened by illness in infancy, Mabel attended The Ontario School for the Deaf (now The Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf) in Belleville from age 5 until the Second World War when the school was used as a Royal Canadian Air Force training facility.
Private burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto.
Please join us in a celebration of Mabel’s life on Sunday April 30 from 1-4PM at The Lake House, 600 Liverpool Rd., Pickering ON L1W 1P9.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf, or The Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy, or to the charity of your choice.

I was so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Even at 95 to die and leave your family is so tragic. Glen and Gary you made your mother proud of all your accomplishments in life. Hopefully that will give some solace.
