In memory of

Lynne Conner

October 1, 1928 -  October 14, 2022

The Conner family is saddened to announce the passing of Mercedes Lynne Wharton-Conner (Lynne) on Friday the 14th of October 2022 in Toronto Canada at the age of 94.

Beloved wife to Julian Peter Conner (1926 – 2013), mother to Jacqueline, Suzanne, Pamela and Ingrid. She was a Grandmother to Andrew (1985– 2008), Elisa, David, Julia, Stephanie, Nicholas, Emma, Elizabeth, Peter, Celia, Elena and Paul, Great-grandmother to Noah, Ella and Olivia.

Lynne, born in the Cape Verde Islands, lived an international life growing up in her beloved England traveling and working extensively throughout Europe and South America where she finally settled on the Caribbean Island of St. Maarten with her darling Julian. Lynne went on to raise her four daughters while successfully building and operating a hospitality business for decades. In the days before e-mails and social media, Lynne spent hours late into the tropical night typing and mailing letters to potential customers and travel partners across the globe. She was renown for her hard work and dedication to her business.

Lynne had a love for languages, fluent in English, Spanish and French. In her later years crossword puzzles became her passion. Lynne will be dearly missed by her family and friends and will continue to be an inspiration to us all.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 1pm at York Funeral Centre. Funeral service will follow at 2pm, and internment will take place at York cemetery (Section D).
