In memory of
Lushea Simone
November 6, 1965 -
October 7, 2022
Lushea Simone, 56, of Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Providence Healthcare on Friday, October 7, 2022. She was born on November 6, 1965, to Vince and Mary Simone. She was the dearly loved sister to Steve, Rickey and Nancy and spirited Aunt to Dylan.
A lifelong skin enthusiast, Lushea attended The Marvel school of Esthetics in 1985 and dedicated the next 35 plus years to the art of beauty and skin perfection…..and it showed. Most notable was Lushea’s natural beauty, her long curly hair and her immaculate, flawless skin. She was also trained as a reflexologist, massage therapist, Bach Flower therapist and makeup artist. Lushea was dedicated to her craft, using only the best and most natural products. She successfully developed her gift of making others look and feel beautiful and also enjoyed sharing her knowledge of skin care and natural healthcare. If you are a friend of Lushea, your skin thanks her every day for introducing you to Dr Hauschka, Environ and Weleda.
Lushea was as unique as her name, adventurous, naturally curious and free spirited. She appreciated diversity immersing herself into various cultures and history. She loved to travel and spent months at a time travelling throughout the United States, Europe, Morocco, Hawaii, Cuba, and Mexico.
Lushea was an environmentalist, nature lover, and an extreme recycler. Lushea’s love of nature precipitated her move to Vancouver in 1997 where she lived and loved, building a community of close friends and loyal clients for over 22 years until she returned to live in Toronto in 2020.
Lushea was an artist. She drew, painted, sketched, and she created art in the garden using plants and flowers as her canvas. She was an avid dancer; she practiced and competed in belly dancing, Bollywood and even dancehall. Lushea was highly religious and attended mass regularly. She often shared the story of her favourite Saint, St. Faustina Kowalska, and was devoted to the Blessed Mother Mary.
Lushea fought hard to stay alive, her determination was incredible. Lushea didn’t conquer cancer, but she did conquer what she feared the most…her fear of dying. The loss of her presence has left a hole in each of us, in a moment she went from being a person we loved to becoming a memory…..a memory we will cherish forever. She will never be forgotten by her family and friends.
Our family would like to extend its gratitude to the dedicated nurses and staff at Providence Healthcare for their remarkable kindness in caring for Lushea. A heartfelt hug to all of you who provided comfort to Lushea, particularly in her last few months; those who prayed for her, called and visited with her, played music for her, delivered home cooked and home-grown food to her, and delivered her much needed coffee :) …you were literally her lifeline.
