In memory of

Luis Lourenco

March 7, 1955 -  August 5, 2021

Luis Eduardo Ferreira Marques Lourenco
Born March 7, 1955 in Vale Covo mainland Portugal.
Son of Luciano and Ilse Lourenco.
Luis spent his early childhood in Portugal moving to Toronto Canada when he was eight years old with his mother and father.
On November 8th, 1975 he married the love of his life and true soulmate Luciana de Sousa.
A few years later they had two beautiful children Nelson and Shawn(Moses). Luis has 2 grandchildren whom he adored and loved spending time with; Jacqueline and Luciano. Luis’s love of music started at a young age. As a kid he loved listening to Elvis and The Beetles. In high school he started playing in various bands. After high school he started playing and singing professionally in clubs and at weddings in English, Portuguese and Italian. He was a member of the bands; Crossroads and Do-Re-Mi. He continued to sing and play up until the mid 80’s. But his love of music newer faded. He took a pause from music to focus on providing for his young family making sure his family wanted for nothing. When his youngest son was going to get married he asked Luis if he would sing at the wedding. Luis was nervous to do so because so much time had passed since he last performed. But he surprised everyone by getting permission from the Bare Naked Ladies and their record label to record “If I had a Million Dollars” in Portuguese. That is when his passion for music was reignited and he continued to write and record music till the day he passed.
