Luigi was born on July 14th, 1942, in a small town, Bovino, Foggia, Italy. At the young age of 16, he met the love of his life and wed 4 years later. in 1963, at the age of 21, Luigi and Margherita and their 4 month old son, Michele, traveled across the waters to an unknown Country, Canada. Not knowing the language spoken there, he quickly found work in the carpentry industry and worked day and night to support his family. In 1964, their 2nd son, Rocco, was born and in 1971, they had their little girl, Celestina, followed by 5 grandchildren that he adored more than anything. His family meant everything to him. He worked so hard to give his wife, children and grandchildren everything that they would need and want. He always went out of his way to help anyone who was in need.
Throughout the years, he survived 3 major back surgeries, which only slowed him down for a while, but did not stop him. In 2008, Luigi was diagnosed with Colon cancer. After many treatments, he fought it. In 2010, he was diagnosed with Lung cancer, and he fought that too. However, in 2012, his colon cancer returned. He tried so hard to fight it, but after 4 years of chemotherapy, he lost the battle. He fought until the day he died.
There is an emptiness in our hearts now, but so many wonderful memories. He will be forever loved and never forgotten. He was strongest and bravest man I know.
