Lucille died October 11, 2016 at the age of 92, having spent her last 9 years living with Alzheimer's Disease. She is survived by her nephews Paul Moore (Atlanta, GA) and Richard Moore (Newfane, NY) and their families. Her teaching career spanned 36 years, including one exchange year in California and she was an active member of the Federated Women Teachers Association of Ontario and President of the Scarborough branch, 1958-60. She was also president of the local Ontario Association of Superannuated Women Teachers (now Retired Women Teachers of Ontario) and later board member of District 5, the provincial level. A confident, outgoing, fun loving traveller, Lucille left a trail of "mountie quarters' behind in her many forays outside Canada. Her gregarious nature guaranteed a wide circle of friends and she enjoyed entertaining at home, frequent family visits, both at the Ontario cottage and in New York State and many reunions with former classmates and colleagues. A graveside service will take place at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Wednesday, October 26th at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucille's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
