In memory of

Luci Stoica

April 2, 1932 -  January 3, 2024

On January 3rd our beloved Vasilica Stoica, known to friends and family as Lucica, passed away.
Her family: kids (Jeni & Nelu, Radu & Odetta), grandkids (Radu & Nelly, Raluca, Mihai & Juliana), great-grandkids (Artemis, Suzanna, Adrian, Emilia), and grand-pets (Mango, Chleo) are sorrowful.
An artful soul that loved animals and children, Lucica was the seed and heart of our beautiful family. She will be dearly missed.

Anniversary

În curând prind în șirag
Soon I catch on my thread
Încă un an, fac 89
Another year, I’m 89
Colierul este larg
The necklace is large
Mai încap încă vreo doua
There’s room for two more
Vreau sa am suma rotunda
I want to have a round sum
Cu încă vreo 4, 5
With maybe 4 or 5 more
Nu am de făcut prea multe
I don’t have many things to do
Dar ceva mai e pe aici
But there are still a few things around
Sa vad strănepoți cum crește
To see how my great-grandchildren grow
Și părinții respectați
And their parents respected
Mi sau adunat toți ani
My years have all added up
Mă bucur cu adevărat
I’m happy in truth
Și acum privesc în jurumi
And now I see around me
Șii am timp destul de mult
And I have enough time
Bucuria ca urmașii
Joy like descendants
Mă cunosc și îi iubesc
They know me and I love them

Sincere regrets on your mom’s passing, Jenny 😢
We admired Lucica’s strength and vitality and the way she integrated herself into your complex lives: children, grandchildren and grand-grandchildren. She wrote poetry, she searched for purpose in her life, she cared for her loved ones. She will be missed forever and not forgotten.
Our sincere condolences,
Nina and Serban Ghenu

Dear Jeni, Nelu, and Family,

“Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.” ― Rabindranath Tagore ―
The dawn has come for Lucica, but the light she put in your and our souls will be there forever. We loved her very much and she will live on in our memory, because those we love remain with us for as long as there is a memory.
You are very close in our thoughts. May the peace that comes from the memories of love, comfort you now and in the days ahead.

With loving memories,
Lia, Flori, Nausica, and Pisti
