It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luba Zigomanis on February 19, 2025, at the age of 88 and 9 months. She passed away peacefully. Predeceased by her husband Steve Zigomanis, cherished mother to Gloria (Costa), Vangie (Ted) and Danny (Nathalie). Proud Babi (grandmother) to Johnathan, Steven, James, Angel, Georjenna & Philip.

Cherished sister to the late Sanda (late Miltiathi), late brothers Gregory (Kata), Dore (late Lena), Peter (Magda) and Ioannis (Menka).

Luba was born on May 12, 1936, in Banitsa, Florina, Greece to the late Pelagia (Vassos) and late Vasili Kalpakis. Steve and Luba were teenage sweethearts. They married and had Gloria, Vangie and Danny. For a better life and greater opportunities for their children they immigrated to Canada in 1966 arriving by boat in Halifax and travelled to Toronto where they began their new life.

Luba loved her new life amongst her Greek, Macedonian, Italian and English community. She made friends easily and was loved by all who were fortunate to have met her. She generously shared baked goods she made by hand. Her yard was a rainbow of flowers which were praised by all who walked by and she was always offering her help and clippings to anyone who wanted to start their own garden. She was a loyal wife, the most giving mother, loving, playful grandmother, neighbour and friend to all of any denomination, colour or nationality.

Luba will be greatly missed by family and friends near and far. Forever cherished, respected and loved ⚘
