SETO, LOUISE

Louise Seto passed away peacefully on the morning of July 22, 2023, in her 91st year at Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, Ontario. Born in Kwangtung, China in 1932, Louise immigrated to Canada with her family in 1954 and lived in Saskatchewan for 3 years. In 1957, she married Edward, the love of her life, and settled in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario until 1971. The family moved to Peterborough, Ontario and operated the Crest Motel until their retirement in 2000. Louise's greatest joy and love was for her family. She worked tirelessly to build the family business but paramount was her devotion to ensure every family member was loved, supported and protected. Family and friends will remember her as a great story teller and a strong, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother with the biggest heart. Louise will be enormously missed!

Reunited with her husband, Edward Seto, whom she was happily married to for 64 years before his passing in 2021. Dearest and most loving mother to her three sons, predeceased son George (Karen), Howard (Karen) and Ivan (Rose). Doting and beloved grandmother to Amanda (Richard), Sonia (Omid), Zachary (Ivy), Alexander (Samantha) and Jordan.

Family will be receiving guests at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at York Funeral Centre on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 12 noon with visitation starting at 11 am and burial to follow.

My sincerest condolences to the Seto family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but never forgotten. Throughout my life she has been an remarkable figure, someone who I held in awe, respect and adoration. I can’t imagine life for her generation was ever easy. But through her dedication, hard work and talents, she and her husband built a beautiful family and legacy. It is a life well lived, and she will always be a role model to the generations that follow her. She certainly is for me. I know she's up in heaven now, dancing with her husband, smiling down on their loved ones. Rest in peace 姨婆, you will be missed.

Louise Seto, my 姨婆 was an amazing person who touched the lives of so many people, including our family. We will always be grateful and indebted for her impact on our lives and her wonderful stories and loving spirit will be deeply missed.

I will undoubtedly remember her as a kind, loving, generous, and devoted sister, wife, parent, and friend. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and changed, and we will cherish her memory forever, together.

Thank you for all the great memories over these years. We are blessed to have had such an incredible person in our lives.

May she find eternal peace and reunite with loved ones in heaven.
