In memory of

Louise Suzanne Miskew

December 27, 1951 -  June 20, 2023

Louise Suzanne Miskew (nee Roussy), 71, died suddenly, and far too soon, in Toronto on Tuesday June 20 2023. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband of nearly 50 years, Fred, and their children Stephanie (Bill Nash) and Paul (Emily Reisman). She was a devoted grandma to Sam, Chloe and Greyson and a constant friend to many.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Center on Wednesday July 5th at 2pm with interment and reception to follow. Visitation will be held Tuesday July 4 from 4pm to 8pm and Wednesday at 1pm, prior to the service. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the CNIB.

Louise was born in 1951 in Ottawa to Geroge and Rita Roussy, but with the early passing of her father, she was raised by her beloved mother. Being a small family of two growing up, she was close to her Roussy cousins and later revelled in joining Fred’s large extended family.

Louise also devoted herself to many friends. Her warm and easy going nature was a magnet for those around her. She made many close friends in the neighbourhood, whether the Blackwater folks from when the kids were little or the folks on the street today. She was always up for a walk with a friend, sharing a laugh, a chat, or just companionable silence. Louise loved nothing more than having family and friends around her table and helping to bring people together. The door was always open for any and all.

Louise was slowly retiring from an active career in real estate, having been the recipient of numerous professional awards over the years. She loved the work as it allowed her to meet and help so many people, many of whom became friends. She cared deeply about the community in which she lived and worked and was especially proud of her involvement with the Guild Renaissance Group that oversaw the revitalization of that important landmark.

Louise had a youthful and adventurous spirit. She often hinted at wanting to be a race car driver but had instead been honing her photography skills and seeking adventure with trips to Antarctica, Galapagos, Africa, and most recently Churchill, MB to fulfill a lifelong dream to see the polar bears. She also enjoyed the solace of nature closer to home, kayaking, swimming or feeding the birds at their cottage on Lake Chandos, a special place to her and her family.

There is no doubt Louise had more love to give and was taken too soon but we take comfort that she is at peace and is on to the next adventure.

Taken too soon from us all. There is now a void in our lives that your kindness, understanding and love filled. You will be missed immensely. We use to joke that we didn’t need to go to therapy as we had each other. Gone but never forgotten. Deepest condolences to Fred, Stephanie, Paul and families.

Louise's bright shining light was extinguished far too early. I am very glad that I got to know her better recently. She always had a smile and wonderful energy. She will be missed sorely. My heartfelt sympathy to Fred and her family.

Louise was such a dynamic presence it is hard to believe that she is gone. Taken far too soon, she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. My deepest sympathy to Fred and family at this sudden tragic loss.
