Lothar (Lou) Gerstenmeier, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 28, 2025. Lou is survived by his devoted wife, Ingrid; his treasured daughter, Kathy; supportive son-in-law, Ron; cherished granddaughters, Megan and Madison; older sister, Inge; and younger brother, Arnim. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Mark. He will be greatly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held on May 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Elgin Mills Cemetery (section 10). Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.

Lou was a hard-working, loving man who was devoted to his wife and family and always had a smile on his face. Our families shared many good times together and I will miss him greatly.
