Lorraine Elizabeth Gertrude Ritchie nee Niblett passed peacefully on Saturday, October 5th at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband Edwin (Ted) Ritchie. A devoted and loving Mother to Ted Ritchie (Tracy), Chris Ritchie (Melanie), Janette Jewitt and Michele Rampino (Michael). Beloved grandmother of Jason, Lisa (Riley), Tyler (Samantha), Ashley (Jamie), Colton (Heather), William, Stephanie, Luke, and Johnathan and Great Grandmother to Shyla, Brayden, Jolene, Ryder, Austin, Everleigh, Theo and Cinder. We are extremely grateful to the staff at Age Care Samac in Oshawa and Abbeylawn Manor for their compassionate care of Lorraine.

Lorraine was always helping others in her community. Her volunteer work at Chartland Junior Public School, Scarborough Grace Hospital, Agincourt Civitan Club, The March of Dimes, and Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Foundation brought her great joy.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Canadian Children’s Book Centre or the Hospital for Sick Children in honour of Lorraine’s love of books and children.

Lorraine’s kindness, generosity and her love of her family and friends will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

There was no one sweeter than dear Aunt Lorraine, always a smile , easy to laugh and a warm welcome. Fondly remember all our holiday family cottage trips over the years , her sweet baked treats and sewing endless amounts of Barbie clothes . Thinking of you all at such a difficult time, but hope you find comfort in hearing all “ the old stories “ ,sharing memories and knowing that Uncle Ted and Aunt Lorraine are together once more.
With deepest sympathies
