In memory of

Lori Bage

January 26, 1960 -  February 27, 2023

Lori-Jean Bage (Lori Bage)
January 26, 1960 – February 27, 2023

Following a brave 12 year long battle with cancer, Lori passed away on February 27, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Deeply missed by her husband John McCarthy, her daughter Amanda (Mike), grandson Garrett, sisters Sharon Jones and Cheryl Bage (Anil Anthony). Predeceased by her father Harry Bage, mother Barbara Bage (nee Clark) and brother Wayne (Margaret). She was always there for friends and family and even through her battle with cancer, she took the time to comfort, support and inspire other cancer patients.

Lori had an incredible life and embraced it every day. Born in Markdale, Ontario she moved with her family to Toronto. As a teenager she loved roller skating and dancing and was a regular on CityTV’s Boogie dance show. She met the love of her life, John McCarthy, as childhood friends and it wasn’t until 1977 when John and Lori began dating. Lori often fondly recalled their first date listening to the music of David Wilcox onboard the Mariposa. They stayed together ever since that day and their daughter Amanda was born in November 1978. Lori always loved taking Amanda for skating, horse riding lessons and shows. Later in life, Lori and John both loved being grandparents when their grandson Garrett was born in 2002.

Lori had a passion for antique and automotive flea markets and was known by the regulars as having an incredible eye for antiques and collectibles. She and John loved to take road trips in their campers throughout Canada and the US to explore, attend car shows and hunt for antiques and collectibles. Lori also loved spending time with her grandson, daughter and friends, and especially cherished her “Girl’s Weekends” at the cottages of her lifelong friends. She also had a passion for animals, and especially loved her dogs Inka, Hunter, Pebbles, Sasha, Oscar, and Woody and cats Noodles, Ricky and Woolfie.

We are thankful to have been blessed to have her as our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend for all these years and we know that a piece of her lives on in all the lives she has touched!

Our deepest condolences to Lori's family. We will always remember Lori's remarkable ability to remember our names and interests even though we only meet infrequently. Remembering her makes us smile and we are very grateful for the time we knew her.

Lori brought light whenever we met her. We will always remember John and Lori as 'Santa and Mrs. Claus' that Christmas. That is, once they realized they were at the wrong house enjoying the neighbour's party and made a quick exit back to Cheryl and Anil's house. We will cherish those memories.
With our thoughts and prayers to all Lori's family and friends.
