In memory of

Lloyd Thomas Ward

February 2, 1949 -  March 5, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lloyd Thomas Ward, who left us peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Lloyd was a man of kindness, warmth, and an infectious laugh that could light up any room. He was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on February 2, 1949, Lloyd lived a life rich with love and laughter. He was a devoted husband to Marcelle, cherishing every moment they shared together. As a father, he was unwavering in his love and guidance for his children, Christopher (Kelly) and Anne-Marie (Alex). His greatest joy was being a proud grandfather to Ava, Sébastien, Mia, and Eloise, who will forever carry his love in their hearts. He shared a bond with Christopher's former partner Holly, with whom he remained connected. Lloyd will always be loved by his siblings Wilbert (Joyce) and Margaret (Bill). He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Annie (Smith) Ward.

Above all, Lloyd will be remembered for his love of family, his joyful spirit, and the way he made others feel seen and valued. His memory will live on in the stories we share and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with us always.

There will be a celebration of life to honour Lloyd on Sunday April 13th from 2-5pm at 555 William Graham Dr, Party Room, Aurora, feel free to drop in within these hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Growing up, and moving from North York, and changing over to a High School in Richmond Hill was an intense new experience for me at 15. Moving to a new city at the age of 15 can be overwhelming. The stress of leaving behind familiar surroundings, friends, and routines compounded by the challenges of adjusting to a new environment ... For me, this experience was tough as I navigated adolescence while trying to find my place in a new home and city, Richmond Hill.

The move to Richmond Hill became significantly more manageable thanks to the kindness and warmth of my high school best friend Chris and his family, the Ward's. They welcomed me with open arms, providing a sense of comfort in an unfamiliar setting. Their hospitality made me immediately feel at home during a time when everything else seemed uncertain.

The Ward residence was filled with laughter, dog barks, delicious Tourtière, and community. The Ward home was always open to me, thanks to the incredible warmth of Marcelle and Lloyd Ward.

Lloyd was a friend to everyone who walked through his door. His kindness extended beyond his family to include all of Chris's friends, who were always made to feel welcome and included. Lloyd had a soft heart, and his love for his family was palpable. He was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen.

Lloyd's legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to experience his spirit firsthand. Rest in Peace, Lloyd. We'll miss you deeply. - SG
