In memory of

Lissi Sorensen

December 28, 1939 -  November 16, 2018

SORENSEN, Lissi – Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 16, 2018 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Predeceased by her husband Knud Sorensen and her parents Ingrid and Jens Poulsen. She leaves behind her children Dan (Margaret), Carsten (Sandy), and Christine (Kelvin). She was the proud grandmother (Mormor/Farmor) of Erik (Mike), Dane (Jess), Amber, Karly (Melissa), Lissi, and Adam. Survived by her brothers Erik, Ole (Jytte), and Geert.
Born December 28, 1939 in Baekke, Denmark, Lissi made her way to Canada at the age of 16 to be with the love of her life, the late Knud Sorensen. They married immediately in 1956, and settled down in Oshawa. Lissi will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, and her great sense of humour will live on through those she has left behind- she had her wit, her humour and her kind heart right to the very end.
The family would like to thank the staff on the Supportive Care unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa- their compassion and their assistance during this very difficult time was deeply appreciated.

A visitation will be held at the Thornton Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres (1200 Thornton Road, North Oshawa, ON, Canada, L1H 7K4) on Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 AM. A Memorial service will follow directly after the visitation, starting at 11:00 AM.

My deepest condolences to the whole family, I remember good times from my childhood when you all visited us on our farm on Solina Rd.
I’m glad I made it past to visit Lissi after I returned to Canada. She was still in touch with my mom and dad (Orla & Birthe Pedersen) on Skype on a regular basis, after all those years.
Rest In Peace Lissi ❤️
