Dr. Phillips was truly a “brother beloved” and an encourager to me. He was a godly man who truly loved the Lord, His people and the assembly. He was a very faithful man to Danforth Gospel Hall and he rarely missed a meeting. He did “behind the scenes “ activities, as setting the table for the Lord’s Supper and opening the building for meetings etc. I personally enjoyed being in their home for meals. He was an encourager to me and “his seat will be empty and he will be missed!”
Jim and Lynelle, we were sad to hear about your Dad's passing, but rejoice that he is already with Jesus and our heavenly Father. He lived such a full life. We plan to attend on December 15th. We SO appreciate how much you supported us in the loss of our fathers. We pray that God provides you both with peace, comfort and strength over coming days as you grieve your loss and deal with practical matters. Love and sympathy, Karen and Sam
I will always remember him with great affection. During my time in Canada, we shared many moments — from family dinners with my aunt, uncle, and cousin, to musical times when he would take me to play the piano. We even went ice fishing in Muskoka! I will always remember his kindness, his warmth, and the sense of humor that defined him.
He will be deeply missed.

The wisest, kindest , gentlest person I have ever known . Dr . Phillips modeled Christian character at all times . In my view for Dr Phillips to live was to Live Christ.
Solomon wrote that " The memory of the just is a treasure" Proverbs
I have a treasure now that I will value, keep, and guard . Thanks be to God Almighty our Father!!
Lionel seems like an amazing man who had a good, full life. Our sympathies are extended to Jim and Lynelle, to Lynelle's brothers and their families, and the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lionel was a man committed to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and now, though dearly missed, we honour and celebrate his triumphant entry to his eternal home.
