In memory of
Lindsay Bishop
January 25, 1987 -
July 7, 2024
Lindsay Ann Bishop of Meaford Ontario passed peacefully on Sunday July 7th, at the age of 37, with her family by her side.
Despite a lifetime of relentless health issues, Lindsay had a strong desire to live her life to the fullest. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Arts in Media Studies, and Humber College with an advanced Diploma in Journalism & Print Broadcast. She travelled extensively across Canada, to Europe and the U.K., Barbados, Turks & Caicos, Aruba, extensively across the U.S. and to New Zealand and Australia where she met her fiancé Trent Laves. There was no adventure Lindsay wasn’t eager to pursue.
Lindsay enjoyed hiking, downhill skiing, lawn bowling, snow shoeing, arts and crafts, and pastry baking and had a particular love for dogs, especially her precious rescue Jack Russell “Penny”.
Lindsay was as kind as a person could be and her presence always brought joy to a room. She had a bubbly personality and laugh that was contagious. There was a special place in her heart for the two anonymous organ donors that added 13 years to her life. She made the most she could of each one of those years.
Lindsay will be greatly missed but continuously loved by her parents, Terry and Sharon Bishop, fiancé Trent Laves, Sister Stephanie Nicksy (nee Bishop), brother-in-law Brandon Nicksy and nephews Benjamin, Jacob and Lucas Nicksy. The family also wishes to express our deep felt gratitude to her organ donors who enabled Lindsay to continue to bless us with her presence.
In lieu of flowers, it was Lindsay’s desire that those wishing to do so, become future organ donors Organ and tissue donor registration | ontario.ca , and/or donate to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Cystic Fibrosis Canada or the Georgian Triangle Humane Society Georgian Triangle Humane Society | Compassion for Pets & People (gths.ca)
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, staff and support workers at Toronto General Hospital, and St. Michael’s Hospital, for their treatment, care, compassion and support over Lindsay’s lifetime. At Lindsay’s request there will be a private memorial gathering for her immediate family followed later by a Celebration of Life with her extended family and her closest friends.
