In memory of

Lily McEwan Murray

July 28, 1939 -  September 13, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lily McEwan Murray (nee Elliot) on September 13, 2023. Lily passed away at home with her daughter by her side, after a hard fought battle with Cancer. Beloved wife of the late David Murray for over 56 years. Loving mother of Eleanor (Ted). Cherished Sister of Robert (deceased), Jim (deceased), Sister in law of Margaret in Scotland, Sister in law of Margaret (Donald deceased) in Canada, Brother in law Albert (Anne). Devoted Aunt of Gordon (Angela), Donna (Mike), Susan (Robert deceased), Karen (Calum), Murray (Karen).

Lily was born in Glasgow Scotland and came to Canada in 1965 where she and David began their new life. Lily worked with Transport Canada at the Control Tower at Pearson Airport for over 25 years.

In 1975 Lily joined the Order of the Easter Star and held several offices throughout her years of service. She was Organist in her own Chapter for a number of years, as well as filling in as Organist for several other Chapters in the District. She travelled many miles and made lifelong friends along the way.

Lily will be fondly remembered and forever missed by all her family and many friends.

The family would like to thank all those involved with the Palliative Care team from Brampton Civic Hospital for all their kindness and compassion they gave Lily as she fought her battle with Cancer.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
