Horachek, Lillian Grace passed away suddenly on Saturday July 2nd in her 81st year, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. There will be a graveside service for the family at Greenwood Cemetery, at 1030 Greenwood Drive in Burlington, ONT. on Monday the 18th of July 2022 at 12:30 p.m. A memorial will be held at a later date in Toronto.
Lillian was predeceased by parents, Alexander & Lillian, brother Richard, sister Betty Banks, nephews Teddy Banks and Darryl Wilner.
Lillian is survived by
• sisters: Sonia Wilner and Krisa Rhodes (Keith),
• nephews: Alan Horachek, Michael McGregor, Steven McGregor,
• nieces: Cheri Wilner, Kay Horachek, Lauren Horachek, Sally McGregor,
Emma McGregor, Christine Jones (Robert), Chloe Jones, Courtney Jones,
Jayne Richeson, Lisa Medieros ( Matt), Kelsey Rhodes (Chris Haddlesey)
• and many cousins.
Lillian cherished her many friends and family and maintained a strong long-term relationship with them. Of special note is high school friend from the 1950s, Sandra Wilson Buzak of Burlington.
For the last 15 years, Lillian lived at the Pioneer Place in North York and valued the residents, staff and the beautifully landscaped gardens.
She supported many charities and institutions (Canadian Wildlife Federation, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Canadian Cancer Society), and worked as a volunteer for the City in various capacities. Also known as ‘Crafty Aunty Lilly’ she was never idle and enjoyed puzzles, the Quilting Club, Sewing Club, making heart pillows. She loved murder mysteries, reading and crocheted an entire Christmas village, snowflakes included. Yes, she will be missed.
