Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Lilli Piil (nee Vilbiks) passed away peacefully in her 103 year on Thursday September 30, 2021 with family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Priidu Piil. Survived by her children, Peeter (Heddy-Mai, deceased), Monika (Jim Smith), Astrid (Thomas Kirves), Henry (Mary), Allan (Lynne) and eleven grandchildren (Daniel, Andres (Rebecca), Robert (Myra), Katrina, Markus (Norma), Leila, Markus (Brandi), Eric, Emmet (deceased), Aili and Miriam), two step-granddaughters Emma and Sarah Smith, and one great grandchild Olivia Warniez. Remembered by her sister-in-law, Õie Wilbiks, Adam and Kristi Smith, and family and friends in Canada and Estonia.

Born in Estonia, Lilli was the third child to Gustav and Leena Vilbiks. She had two older sisters, Palmi and Ester, and a younger brother, Johannes, with whom she left Estonia during the war. She lived a long and varied life and will be missed.

We will welcome visitors at York Cemetery chapel on Thursday October 7, 2021 between 1:00 - 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow. By request, no flowers, please. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to support Covenant House, Toronto.
