In memory of

Lilian Po Chun Tam 譚黃寶珍太夫人安息

August 30, 1947 -  May 3, 2021

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Lilian Po Chun Tam (nee Wong). Lilian passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 73.

She will forever be missed by all of us and lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile, love of family, tremendous generosity and “up for anything” approach to life.

Lilian was pre-deceased by her parents, Mr. Yat Wing Wong and Mrs. Chai Ho Law Wong, and her brothers, Harris Wong, Brian Wong and Philip Wong.

Lilian leaves behind her husband, Chi-Yin Tam; her eldest son Vince Tam, daughter-in-law Julie Tam, grandchildren Zachary and Naomi; her younger son Wayne Tam, daughter-in-law Darlene Tam, grandchildren Savannah and Clarissa; and her daughter Sabrina Tam, son-in-law Jeremy Smith, and granddaughter Cassidy. She is survived by her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Raphael and home care nurse Margaret for the exceptional care they provided to Lilian, as well as the staff at the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private service for the immediate family will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Centre followed by interment at Pine Hills Cemetery on Friday, May 14th, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lilian’s honour to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sunnybrook Foundation (Odette Cancer Centre) would be appreciated.

Lilian was a dear woman and will be sorely missed by our whole family. She was a sweet, generous soul who has left a lasting impact on our family. It was our honour to know her. Wishing her and her family peace.

In the 20 plus’s years that we have known Lilian, she always made us feel welcome and part of the family. I have many fond memories of times shared, most especially our trip to Disney. She was one of the strongest women I have ever met and my heart is broken for her absence. God speed my friend

We are heartbroken to hear this very sad news about Mrs Tam (Lilian). As I was growing up, she was always a quiet and strong pillar of support and love in our Cornwall Chinese Community and a wonderful teacher of all of us at our Chinese School and with my family. She presence will always be missed.
I’d like to express our sincere condolences to her whole family. Prayers, love and peace for her and all of you. Requiescat in Pace.

Auntie Lillian will be sorely missed. She was so kind and loving, always there to help in time of need.
My kids loved being around her as she was so fun and loved to take them places and buy them treats when she was visiting.
My family is thankful for the times we got to spend with her in Hong Kong and in Halifax.
Sending our love and condolences Angela, Jason, Abigail & Ethan ❤️
