In memory of

蘇楊莉祖 Li-Tsu (Lily) Su

August 3, 1947 -  March 22, 2024

Li-Tsu (Lily) Su passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 22, 2024 at Scarborough General Hospital. Lily is survived by her husband, How-Meng (Edward) Su, her children Hui-Wen (Wendy), Chuan-Jui (Joshua), Pai-Yu (Peter), grandchildren, Samantha, Jason, Grace and Jacob and daughters-in-law Elaine Cheung and Lesley Beneteau, sisters, Ming Tzu Yang, Jung Tzu Yang, Tzu Yen Yang and her niece and many nephews. Lily is predeceased by her father, Ting Chi Yang, mother, Chien Ying Ma Yang, and brother Tzu Wei Yang. Lily was born in Suzhou, China on August 3, 1947 and escaped to Taiwan with her parents in 1949. She married Edward in Taiwan in 1964 and raised their three children on her own in Taiwan while Edward worked his way through the US and, eventually Canada, working hard to establish a new life for them in North America. Lily and the children joined Edward in Toronto in October 1975.

Lily loved her children deeply, working hard every day, pushing through many hardships and making every sacrifice to provide a life for them where they would be able to learn, grow and have a successful and fulfilling life with their families full of good fortune and love. Lily’s biggest joy was her grandchildren who she spoiled with her wonderful cooking and baking and showered with her generous, playful, loving spirit.

Lily was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, and her absence will be felt by all who knew her. Lily will be remembered for her kindness, boundless generosity, and commitment to her family and will live on in the hearts of all of those she touched. A private service will be held for family and friends. Donations may be made in Lily's memory to Scarborough General Hospital Kidney Care.
