Les Dobson died February 18, 2024, after a stroke. Born in Boston Spa, West Yorkshire on August 17, 1935, to Ivy (Clay) and James Dobson. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joanne (Jones) of 48 years and son James (Hy Da “Jim” Phu). Predeceased in 1936 by his brother James, 1979 by his stillborn daughter, and in 1984 by his stepfather Albert “Skipper” James. Brother-in-law of John Jones (Brenda Foote), uncle of Lisa (Ken McFarlane) and Graham (Koyuki Oka), great-uncle of Cameron and Laura McFarlane; Miya, Jaiden, and Jack Jones. Retired from Ontario Hydro in 1993 as editor of Hydroscope.

A visitation will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre in Toronto on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5pm to 8pm. A private funeral will be held on March 2.
