In memory of

Leonardo Serafino

October 2, 1935 -  June 15, 2024

In loving memory of our father, Leonardo Serafino, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was the devoted partner to Emma Rocchetta for 31 years, Loving father of Domenic (and his wife Joanne) & Anna Serafino (husband Euro), wonderful Nonno to Amanda Lombardi (and her husband Lou), Melissa & Matthew, and great grandfather (Nino) to Rocco & Elio.

He was a step father to John (wife Sue) and Fernando (wife Regina) Rocchetta and Christine Magnone (partner Adriano). Loving step grandfather to Concetta (husband Robson) Siqueira, Sandra Magnone, Emma Leigh (husband Tim), Elio, Rocco, Giovanni and Gianluca Rocchetta and step great grandfather to Alessia, Livia, Gabriel, Siena, Leo and Toni.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As one of the kindest souls on this planet. Our dad was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced many challenges during his life and conquered them with admirable strength and courage.

Our father decided to make a new life for himself in Canada and moved from Italy in 1956. He married his wife Filomena in 1958 and was happily married to until her untimely death in 1984. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there for us, whether we needed life advice or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strong moral compass and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to. We as a family would always joke about the fact that our father would end virtually every interaction with the words "be good and be happy". As we look back, we find ourselves realizing just how simple, yet profound these words are to live by. Thank you for such an important life lesson!

We will greet family and friends at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, in Scarborough. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 19th between 4 and 8pm and Thursday June 20th between 10 and 11am. The actual funeral service will commence at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnybrook Hospital.. The link is:https://donate.sunnybrook.ca/donate-now.
