Leonard Taiichi Shimoda

January 13, 1945 -  July 29, 2024

Leonard Taiichi Shimoda, beloved husband, father, grandfather (Ji-Chan), and friend, passed in his sleep early Monday morning on July 29th, 2024 at the age of 79. Born January 13, 1945, in Ashcroft, BC to his late parents, Masakazu (Henry) and Yasuko (Helen) Shimoda.

Left to mourn and survived by his wife, Mary (nee Yoshida), three children, James (Christine), David (Vikki), and Jennifer (Brian), and five grandchildren, Madeline, Nicholas, Claire, Cameron and Caitlin.

Len started his career at Price Waterhouse / PWC in 1966, where he became Partner in 1979. He retired in 2002, to enjoy his garden and the finer things in life, including golf, wine and scotch. He will be remembered as his grandkids' biggest cheerleader in all of their sporting endeavours.

Services will take place at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, at 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, M4T 2V8. An evening visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, August 20, at 2:00pm, with a visitation beforehand at 1:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Toronto Buddhist Church, or a charity of your choosing.
