In memory of

Leonard (Len) David Dyck

January 18, 1926 -  January 5, 2024

Len was born in Schanzenfeld (Winkler), Manitoba on Jan. 18, 1926 and died peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 5, 2024 at the Providence Palliative Care Unit in Toronto. He was looking forward to being reunited with his wife Trudy who passed away in 2015 and other members of his family and friends who had gone on before. He told us many times during this past year that he wanted to “go home”.
He is survived by his sister, Joyce; children Carole (Doug), Doug (Jan), and Mike (Mad); grandchildren Jeff, Rob, Sarah, Becky, Esther and Michelle; and great-grandchildren Finn, James, Asher, Simon, Mae, and Emily. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends at Morningstar Christian Fellowship and Shepherd Village where he lived for the past 10 years.
The family would like to thank the nurses that helped to care for Len at Shepherd Terrace, Scarborough Birchmount Hospital, and the Providence Palliative Care Unit. They are all superheroes.
A Visitation will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., a Funeral Service to follow. Interment at Pine Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to World Vision, The Scott Mission, or a charity of your preference.

Dear family of Len. My family and I wishes you all ,our sincere condolences. Len was such a loving and caring church brother. He and Trudy was such caring couple, when I first join Church Hill Heights ,in the late 1989.
"Blessed are the saints who die in Christ." May they both continue to rest in peace.
May God give you the family Peace & Comfort. My blessings to all.

Sharing names with Len might be part of what bonded us as friends and brothers. He came to help us build at our Bible Camp in Spain over 40 years ago and then supported our family faithfully and generously to the end of our missionary career 4 years ago. Len was the guy that would put the hammer into your hand before you got a chance to ask him for it. His servant heart stands out, along with his prayers and zeal to spread the Gospel. It was a treasure to know him. Len is fondly remembered by Marrian and me.

It's brings grief to lose a friend, but a reminder of all the goodness Len brought into this family's life. I will miss his advice and his encouragement as well as his friendship.
I understand his desire to go to his eternal home, and so well he deserves it.
