Leonard Blenman

November 14, 1934 -  March 28, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Leonard Blenman announces his passing due to natural causes on March 28, 2024, in his 89th year. Leonard passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital.

Son of the late Albertha Blenman and Allen Greenidge. Brother to Rupert "Percy" (Omelda), Lilian "Orma", Caspert "Casey" (Phyllis), and Darcy (deceased).

Forever in the hearts of his wife, Nita; daughters Carolyn (deceased), Ingrid; and sons Ernest, Anthony, and Jeffrey.

He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Leonard grew up in Barbados and immigrated to Canada in 1966 in search of a better life for his family. He retired from Via Rail. In his retirement, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing dominos, and various card games. Leonard will be remembered for his generosity and love of country and island music.

The family warmly invites you to a visitation for Leonard from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, Ontario, M1K 1R1. This time will allow us to come together, share memories, and celebrate Leonard's life. A brief Prayer Service will be held at 5 p.m. to honour his memory and spirit.

Leonard was a family friend.
A Kind, generous, caring, fun loving person
He did not care about material things
Would give you his last penny or the shirt off his back.
He loved country music
He loved cars, big, sprawling cars
He loved driving.
Loved to laugh and laugh out loud
Loved playing card games - with us it was specifically Hearts.
Did not get to visit with him during his illness or did not see him often in the last few years, but my family and I shared some memorable times with him. Times of fun, laughter, going on trips, discussions, arguments - politics, sports, everything under the sun.
His friendship made a difference in our lives. I am blessed to have known him and spent time with him.
My family and I extend our deepest condolences to his wife, his children and extended family.
Rest in Peace Leonard.
