Leo Joseph Gerard Bondy

December 9, 1949 - December 5, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Leo Joseph Gerard Bondy on December 5th, 2016 at the age of 66. Loving husband of Gloria (née Cashin), devoted father to Jonathan, Paul (Renée), Mark and proud Pépé to Kieran Léo Gérard Bondy. Dear son of the late Leo and Evangeline Bondy and son-in-law of the late Marty and Ellie Cashin. Cherished brother of Cecile (Pat Kelly), Phyllis (Jay Horton), Tom (Anne Marie), Mark (Christine), and the late Joseph (Mary Lou) and Neil (Judy). Beloved brother-in-law of John (Helen), Fred (Karen) and the late Carl Cashin (Sam) and also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Leo dedicated 37 years of service to Canada Revenue Agency (Yes, he was the tax man). He was a fisherman and loved the outdoors. It was this passion for the outdoors that led him to 25 years of service and dedication to Scouts Canada to teach kids not only to enjoy the outdoors but to respect and preserve it. If you desire, donations to CAMH would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm, followed by a Celebration of life from 2-3 pm at Pine Hills Cemetery - 625 Birchmount Rd. Scarborough, ON M1K 1R1.

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about Uncle Leo...he was such a quiet and soft spoken man-but with a good sense of humour. I always looked forward to seeing Uncle Leo and Aunt Gloria and my cousins from the north...great memories! My son Leo always thought it was cool that there was someone else with his name too! Sending love to my Aunt and cousins and their families.

My deepest condolences to you Aunt Gloria, John, Paul, Renee, Kieran, and Mark. I will always remember Uncle Leo for his warmth and his kind heart. He was always so easy to talk with and easy to bring a smile. He will be missed.

May the Lord support us all the day long, till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in his mercy, may he give us a safe lodging and holy rest, and peace at last. Father we ask you through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lord, give us hope that goes beyond the trials we must go through and lift our hearts above the pain to the peace the found in you.
