I will always cherish the memory of you making my graduation dress, a red taffeta strapless. I always remember you fondly. ❤️
Yiayia I can’t believe you’re gone, especially so soon after papou. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because he was probably waiting for you. My heart is heavy sadness now but I always smile at all the memories I have. Thank you for being so loving and generous to your family but especially to Nick and myself. You alway put us first. Thank you for helping raise us and for teaching us how to be good men. I’m grateful to have had so much time with you even though the last few years were challenging at times. I’m happy you got to meet your great grandchildren. They will get to know you more through the sharing of photos and stories as they get older. I hope you know how much you meant to us. Thank you for all you did for me. I miss you and love you. May you rest in peace and May your memory be eternal.
My Yiayia was a very beautiful, kind, strong and brave woman. She endured and overcame many difficulties in her life. She was one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. We had a special bond, and she always had my back. She was very protective. And I already miss her dearly.
Lella’s family was her pride and joy. She spread her love through food, cooking a variety of Greek dishes for her family such as pastitsio, soutzoukakia (Greek meatballs), fasolada, dolmades, etc. However, my favourite was when she baked fresh bread, or made pizza with her homemade pizza dough. Also, every Easter she made her famous tsoureki (Easter bread). The house smelled so good.
My Yiayia was also a gifted seamstress. She made custom dresses/outfits for clients, and family. She even made Halloween costumes for both my brother and I. They were such good quality that now our own kids wear them.
My Yiayia was a selfless, generous, loving, and humble woman, she lived her life for her family and her faith.
You were an incredible Wife, Mother, Yiayia, Great Yiayia, and friend.
We love you with all our heart and thank you for all that you have done for us. We promise to keep your traditions going. We will miss you dearly and you will forever be in our hearts. May you rest in God’s eternal light and love, and may your memory be eternal.
I love you Yiayia, and thank you for everything. I am so blessed you got to meet and spend time with my own family. Especially my boys George and Philip. I know you adored them and they loved you back. Say hi to Papou for me.
With Love,
Nicholas
My beloved mom,
You had given me so much love and protection throughout my life. You always dressed me beautifully with the latest fashions. You were always very professional in dress making. I admired you.
You gave so much of yourself to your family. Your grandchildren were the apple of your eyes. Your great grandchildren brought smiles to your face.
Mom, I will miss the times we had together, but then again I am very blessed to have had you in my life and my children’s lives. Thank you. I will forever love you.
Theia mou ,
You have been a simple, immigrant woman who has achieved more than you ever expected! In your simplicity, you managed to mark the lives of us who were lucky to be your family! Coming from tiny Cyprus, you never lost your Cypriot identity in the huge , melting pot of Canada! Your interest in Cyprus never ceased!
Your strength and stamina to support your family will be remembered for ever and will serve as a lesson for us!
Your impeccable style and skills in creating unique outfits have dressed us up not only once and have made us feel special and elegant! Thank you so much for this!
May you rest in peace, dearest Lella!
