In memory of

Joseph Lee

February 10, 1938 -  November 30, 2016

Joseph Fah Khiam Lee, 78, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and sons on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

A man of quiet strength, wisdom and integrity, Joe whole-heartedly dedicated his life to his wife, sons, daughter-in-law and cherished grandchildren. Although a man of few words, Joe made sure to leave nothing unsaid before he passed, and expressed his deep gratitude for a life well lived. In his words, “I have had a good life.”

Joe loved nothing more than travelling the world with his wife, spending time with his family, caring for and spoiling his grandchildren and enjoying a good meal.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife Jane of 42 years, loving sons Robert (Crystal) and Jerome, and his grandchildren Eliza and Jude. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Born on February 10, 1938 in Telipok, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Joe immigrated to Toronto in 1968 where he would eventually meet his wife Jane, and raise a family. Joe worked for CN Rail with 34 years of service without a single sick day.

Visitation for Joe will be on Monday, December 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, December 6 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre (625 Birchmount Road, Toronto). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 6 at 10 a.m. at Pine Hills. Joe will be laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery following the service.

A special thank you to Princess Margaret Hospital (Dr. Raymond Jang and Charmaine Sintos), the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre (Dr. Kelvin Chan) and to his palliative homecare team – nurse Jas, Dr. Natalia Novosedlik and Dr. Richard Brodie – for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion. Also thanks to Carol Shelton and Dr. Howard Clasky for their ongoing support, insight, empathy and friendship.

Memorial donations may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation or the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre.
