Lebert Alfonso Orr passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 85 in North York Ontario surrounded by his family. Lebert was born on April 2, 1937, in Portland Jamaica. He migrated from Jamaica to Canada in February 1971. His wife Geneive (Pearl) and four children, Ava, Granville, Judith, and Lyndon soon followed. Lee, Leo, Trooper, Bobby, Papa-Son were some of his affectionate nicknames. Lebert was a hardworking carpenter, a jack of all trades, he could fix anything. He was a fun-loving family-oriented person who loved politics, history, and debating current issues. A social person who loved a good party and a game of dominoes. A sports lover and Blue Jays fan. A music lover with a collection of records, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Elvis Presley and many more. His joyful spirit was always humming a tune or telling a humorous story to anyone that would listen. He enjoyed Shakespeare and would recite quotes, one of his favourites from Macbeth: “Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
Daddy is resting on the other side uttering his favorite words “Everything is going to work out.” His family and friends miss him dearly and will rejoice with him in heaven one day.
In addition to the family listed above Lebert is survived by his brother Stanford, sons Patrick and Alex. Grandchildren Brandon, Christien, Dante, Johnathon, Jazmine, Myles, Jherene, and Jhakeim.
