It is with overwhelming sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful and loving wife, mother and grandmother Lazena. She passed away at her home in Toronto (East York), Canada in the early morning of July 25th, 2019 at the age of 75

Cherished wife of Valentine for 39 years (1980). Dear mother of Ian Lester and Justin Craig. She dedicated all her time to her children in all aspects of their lives. Especially by doting on her new grandson Tristin (Justin & Crystal). Sister to Haniph (brother), the late Sheriff (brother), Hamida (sister), Amiran (sister) and the late Marjorie (sister). She will be greatly and tremendously missed by many extended family and friends. Lazena will be remembered for her devotion and dedication to all of her family near and far.

You are at peace.....You faced life’s trials with determination, joy and a willingness to defeat odds set against you. Life was on your terms, and you lived it to the fullest, traveled the world, crossed boards some only dream of crossing. Married a man we all love and proud to call uncle. Raised two of the most gifted and caring men I know. I am proud to call myself your niece. May you enjoy your new life in God holy place.

Although our relationship was defined by a long distance and infrequent encounters, when we met she made it feel like we had just met a short while ago. Immediately after my triple bypass surgery she found time to call me twice to check on me. That act from the outside may seem small, but I assure you it meant a lot to me.
I’m glad Cherry was able to bring her to our home a few weeks back to visit her sister Hamida whom she had not seen in some time.
Me and the rest of our family will miss her.
