In memory of

Lan Trieu Chung

October 8, 1954 -  August 17, 2023

With a heavy heart and profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Lan Chung on August 17, 2023. Born on October 8, 1954, Lan lived a fulfilling and memorable life, leaving an impactful mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Lan was cherished by all for his easygoing nature and infectious happiness. Always humble in nature, and a witty sense of humour to match, he served to be a beacon of light to everyone around him. He had a deep love for travelling and explored many parts of the world, with notable trips to Vietnam, Australia, Panama, and the Caribbeans.

Among Lan's greatest accomplishments was successfully raising his family in Canada. His deep love for his children and grandchildren was evident in every aspect of his life. Their growth, success and happiness were his ultimate source of fulfillment.

The void left by Lan Chung is enormous, yet he will continue to live in the hearts of his surviving family members including his daughter, Cam Shin, his son, Andy Chung, his former spouse, Loan kim Chung, his grandchildren, Waverly, Amia, Mielle, and Kyler. Also mourning his loss are his son-in-law, Charles Shin, his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ng-Chung, his sister, Toai Dung Chung, his nephews, Tuan Sung Luong, Kiet Sung Luong, Co Sung Luong, and his niece, Oanh Thuy Luong. He will also be greatly missed by his seven nieces and two nephews. Lan was predeceased by his father, Can Hong Chung, and his mother, Lien Ngoc Luong.

As we bid farewell to Lan, we celebrate his life and take comfort in the fact that his spirit will continue to guide us. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. In honour of Lan, we encourage all to embody his teachings of humility and peace in our daily lives.

The visitation service for Lan Chung will be held on August 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation, and Funeral Centres, with a traditional Buddhist ceremony to follow at 2:00 PM, and the burial to commence at 3:15 PM.
