Lan Thuc Truong, age 92, of North York, passed away at home on January 15th, 2024.

She was born in Canton, China, but soon moved to Vietnam, where she met and married her husband, Xenh Diu Luc. Together they had four sons: Wah, Nam, Vinh, and Cuong.

After the Vietnam War began, she managed to escape with her family to Hong Kong in the mid-1970’s, then eventually getting sponsored to live in Canada in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993. Since then, she continued to serve as the matriarch of the family, alongside helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always gentle but firm with her words and loved to recount stories of her children, grandchildren and, great/grandchildren growing up.

Lan is survived by her two sisters; four sons; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
