Our loving mother, Kyriakoula Nicolakakos passed away quietly at home on Sunday February 11, just 12 days before her 97th birthday. She was surrounded by her five children, their spouses and almost all of her ten grandchildren.

Koula Konstantakos was born in Xirokambi Greece in 1927 and married Eustratios Nicolakakos from Liandina in 1953. From the village, they moved to Athens a year later and had their first child in 1954. By 1956, they began their new life in Canada, arriving in Halifax, then moving to London and finally settling in Toronto. They worked hard, bought a house and by 1964 added four more children to their family.

Koula spent her final days surrounded by her family and friends. Even though she was unable to leave her house, she thrived on visits and phone conversations with people here and in Greece.

Koula will be fondly remembered and forever loved by her five children Stella, Tessie, Georgina, Peter, Spiro, their spouses, and her ten grandchildren for her feisty spirit, her quick smile and warm heart.
