In memory of

Mr. HO, Kwok-On 何國安先生

March 13, 1926 -  December 15, 2018

Dear family and friends,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Mr. Ho Kwok-On (何國安先生). He passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at around 11pm at Mackenzie Health Hospital. Our heartfelt thanks to all the hospital staff at Sunnybrook Health Centre and MacKenzie Health for their exceptional care and treatments for our father in the past two months. Above all, we are tremendously thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ Who saved our father in his later years and also graciously granted him long life on earth.

Our father was a longtime watch repairer, retired from連卡佛百貨公司 Lane Crawford (Hong Kong), a high-end retail store with jewelry accounted for the majority of its sales. We remember Dad instructing us to wind and run our watches (mechanical at the time) at least once a month to keep the movement’s parts lubricated especially when worn infrequently. Our father was a highly-valued employee because of his exceptional, second-to-none skills in servicing prestigious jewelry watches and clocks. He was typically addressed to as "Master ShiFu Ho 何師傅", both at work and beyond, and was well-liked by those around him for his friendliness and outgoing personality.

Since his retirement in the early nineties, he had been traveling with our mother to North America to see us and help out our families, young at the time. They ultimately became Canadian citizens and held a permanent residence in Toronto. Although our mother had suddenly passed away in 2007, our father persisted in staying near to his children, hence spending six months in a typical year in each of Canada and Hong Kong in all these years leading up to his passing. He loved the company of his children and grandchildren and had many friends at his church, Markham Chinese Alliance Church 麥咸華人宣道會. His many pastimes included newspaper reading, enjoying dim-sum and grocery-shopping on a daily basis and also taking day trips with his church friends at times.

Our father was a loving grandpa and will be missed by Kenny, Matthew, Katie, JJ, Yvette and Joshua, all who held a special place in his heart. He was also a kind father-in-law and will be missed by Matt, Bernard, Sandy, Terence and Carol.

" Dad, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. Although we are very saddened by this temporary separation, the Good News is that as Christians we will one day meet again in heaven! "

Thank you for your compassion, In Christ,
