Memorial for Kwai Yuet Fong (mother)
(October 4, 1940 – March 11, 2025)
Funeral - Saturday, March 15, 2025
We lost Kwai Yuet Fong (age 84) to cancer. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend, and good neighbour to many.
She was a breast cancer survivor (2009) and fully recovered from hip surgery in 2023.
According to her Chinese contemporaries, she lived a long and fruitful life.
Born in Waichu, China on October 4, 1940, she was predeceased by both her parents and her siblings. Also, she was predeceased by her husband Poi Fan. She is survived by her children Kenneth, Nancy, Alden, Brian, and her stepdaughter Lina. A proud grandmother to Kyra, Juliette, Madeline, and Alexander.
Kwai Yuet was a primary school teacher in Hong Kong and China, who came to Canada to marry and to start a new life. She will be remembered as a hardworking and caring mother. Her dedication to her family greatly contributed to the success of her husband, Poi Fan, and the success of her children. Her children, Kenneth, Nancy, Alden, and Brian owe her a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.
Gardening was her passion, and she shared it with her neighbours, friends, and family. Also, she was a community volunteer who was recognized by her local member of parliament. This community service was performed after she retired from Canada Post Corporation after twenty-six years of service. In conclusion, she was a simple and humble woman who believed in fairness and justice.
Many thanks to her medical professionals, Dr. B. Hum (family doctor) and the numerous doctors and nurses at the Michael Garron Hospital who supported her over the past decades.
There will be an interment at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre (375 Mount Pleasant Road) with the visitation/viewing on Saturday, March 15, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m., service @ 10:00 a.m. and the burial @ 11:15 a.m.
