Lee Kwai Fong 李桂芳 (婆婆)

On Midnight Wednesday, May 13, 2020, Lee Kwai Fong, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at 98 years in Markham, Ontario .

Lee Kwai Fong was born on May 10, 1922 (legally registered 1923) in Guangzhou, China as the third child of 6 from parents Lee Hoi Chun, and Lam Yu Yee. In 1947, she married Law Chun Chor and had four children, Nancy, Tak, Alice and Hau Yan.

Lee Kwai Fong dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving, patient, strong, devoted and steadfast mother to her husband and children. She showed her love and affection the best way she knew how, through her cooking. She made daily trips to the market to buy the freshest produce so she could make her soups and specialty dishes. Because of her dedication and efforts, her children and grandchildren grew to appreciate and enjoy the love that went into her cooking.

Even though Lee Kwai Fong was an independent and active woman throughout her life in Hong Kong, She still had the opportunity to travel; often with her youngest son Hau Yan by her side across Europe, Asia, America, and Canada. She was loved dearly by her descendants and celebrated all of life’s moments in her timeless and impeccable style. She was the most kind hearted, compassionate, gentle, and caring grandmother. To all those that she loved and touched deeply, her gentle soft voice and tender touch will always give them a sense of understanding and support that can never be replaced.

Lee Kwai Fong was the last remaining survivor of her 5 siblings. 2 elder sisters Lee Wah Fong, Lee Sau Fong, 2 younger sisters Lee Kit Fong, Lee Lai Fong and younger brother Lee Chun Fei. She is survived by her four children; Nancy, Tak, Alice, and Hau Yan, her 6 grandchildren; Esther, Darren, Tiffany, Alexander, Angela and Henry, and her 10 beautiful great grandkids; Ethan, Kenneth, Katlyn, Ellis, Derek, Calvin, Lauren, Audrey, Emi, and Dennis.

Her family misses her dearly but finds comfort knowing she will rest in peace.

We will Miss Pau Pau dearly, the greatest Chef in our family. She took care of us often in Parma and put up with all our antics, forever in our memories. And she made the world's best Instant Noodles!

Love Alexandre Duong & Family.

I always looked forward to seeing Sam Yee Poh on her frequent visits to Canada. She had a gentle, kind touch and reminded me so much of my own Mah Mah, her younger sister, and the close sibling relationships that link many families together today.
