In memory of

Kuan-Po Chin

March 15, 1932 -  March 23, 2018

Kuan Po (Paul) Chin, passed away March 23, 2018. He was 86. A simple man, who led a simple life, he was married to Nui Yau (Mary) Lam Chin (deceased Feb 9,2001), and is survived by daughter Winnifred Chin (Ken Ring), daughter Wendy Chin (Alex Marshall), son Kelvin Chin (Elizabeth Chin), and granddaughter Mercedes Chin.

Kuan Po emigrated from China to Canada in the 1950s looking for a better life. After settling in Toronto, he returned to China to wed Nui Yau, and then started a two year immigration process to bring his wife to Canada.

He worked at various restaurants as a cook and even owned his own restaurant for a short time. He loved watching hockey and baseball on television. But his passion was walking. Each morning he would get up early and walk for an hour through the neighbourhood no matter what the weather. And it is while walking that he lived his final days.

A private service will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre on Thursday, March 29, 2018. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Sinai Health Foundation in support of the wonderful work of Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. Condolences can be made through the Send Condolences link.
