In memory of

Krystyna Marie Price

January 3, 1969 -  January 14, 2021

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Krystyna Marie Price (nee Storr), on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Sunnybrook Hospital, aged 52. Krystyna faced and fought a sudden onset of health complications due to cancer with grace and incredible courage.

She will be greatly missed by her father, John Storr, her husband, Stephen Price, her children, Raili and Mackai Price, her sister Elizabeth Storr (Dave), a loving family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, her mother-in-law and brother-in-law, and many friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Marie Storr.

Krystyna was born January 3, 1969, growing up in Scarborough with her younger sister. She excelled academically from an early age, and would continue to do so throughout her life, earning a variety of degrees and certifications, including a Masters in English at The University of Toronto and a Law degree at Western University. She was also an accomplished pianist, recently returning to her studies, acquiring Grade 9 certification with The Royal Conservatory of Music. Krystyna was a lifelong learner. She pursued knowledge of the world around her with a focus on mindfulness in the later stages of her life.

Krystyna married and had two beautiful children who were her pride and joy. She was a devoted mother, leaving law to dedicate herself to their happy and healthy upbringing. She exhibited patience and comforted them while encouraging them in all their pursuits. The family spent cherished time together at their cabin and on the slopes at Beaver Valley. They travelled as a family on several occasions, building memories and experiences with their children.

Krystyna will be remembered by her friends and family for her exquisite beauty, both externally and internally, her quiet brilliance, razor-sharp wit, kind, caring and supportive nature, and her eternal optimism and resolve in the face of difficult challenges.

A memorial service will be taking place at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre on Thursday, January 21st at 3:00 p.m., with limited attendance and by invitation only. The family welcomes all to attend virtually via live-stream. Please visit www.etouch.ca to find her memorial page. The link for livestreaming will become available at 2:45pm, and the service will commence at 3:00pm. The family has asked that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Sunnybrook Hospital Odette Cancer Center at donate.sunnybrook.ca/tribute.

Sadness is inevitable but it is fleeting.
Grief is painful and necessary but it too will give way to other beginnings.
Our best memories of Krystyna included her wryly devious smile, as she would patiently wait for someone to catch up to one of her quips. Her humour was beautifully dry and she was always one step ahead of her “audience”.
A rare combination of intellect, beauty and wit, Krystyna will be missed, but she will be easily and oft-remembered.
Kellie and I send our condolences out to Stephen, Raili and Mackai, as well as the throngs of friends and family whom have been touched by our collective loss.
There will be no forgetting this Gal...she was, and now truly is, an Angel.

Stephen and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. The obituary was wonderfully written and provided a glimpse of how brilliant Krystyna was. I recall meeting her briefly with Stephen and friends at 'Nawlins on King Street West many years ago. A beautiful woman taken far too early. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
