Kou Leung Obituary (Feb 20, 1920 – June 22, 2021)

It is with great sadness that the family of Kou Leung (梁九) announces his passing on Tuesday June 22, 2021 after reaching the age of 101 years-old. He died peacefully in his sleep and he will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.

He is predeceased by his wife (Hop Ho), older brother (Chun-Sang Leung), younger brother (Tung Leung) and younger sister (Fung-Cheung Leung). He is survived by his younger sister Amy Chan (Douglas).

He is also survived by his children Thomas (Maggie), John (Faith), Irene (David) and Stephanie (Richard), 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He served as a family elder; helping to bind a large extended family of siblings, nephews, nieces and cousins together through birthday banquets and special events.


A Funeral Service in memory of Kou will be held on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 10 am at Pine Hills Cemetery.


Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, indoor in-person attendance is limited and attendee spots will be allocated by the family. However, we welcome family and friends to attend the outdoor burial ceremony at 11:30. This is currently limited to 50 total but we expect guidance on final numbers due to stage 2 reopening.

For those that are not able to attend in-person; we will be offering a live stream of the virtual service via Zoom video. We will also be recording the funeral service and sharing it on Youtube for viewing afterwards for those that cannot make it on that day.
